Vision The
Foundation supports basic scientific research and education, which contributes
to the production of better, healthier and safer dairy products.
Strategy At the
end of 2003/beginning of 2004, MFF reviewed its research strategy in order to
maintain future focus on three research themes:
- Dairy Technology and Informatics
- Food Safety and Control
- Nutrition and Health
Earlier, MFF operated with a fourth theme, viz. ‘Raw Materials and Quality’.
Today, this area is handled by The Danish Cattle Federation, but MFF is working
on securing that the knowledge gained is distributed to the dairies and is of
relevance, from a dairy process point of view. The scope of the four themes is
described in the following material.
Research
method The research projects must have a generic dairy-oriented
content. They should expand the scientific basis for the technology and product
development within the dairy companies collaboration. The results are
disseminated to the entire dairy sector at conferences, in national and
international journals and via reporting at steering group level.
The research projects are carried out in collaboration with public research
institution, making sure that the cutting edge expertise of the institutions is
transformed into the development of competitive Danish diary
products.
